Peningkatan Pendidikan Karakter Anak Melalui Program Pramuka Di SMP SATAP Watu Mundung

Abstract

One of the problems that exist in the Golo Meni village community, North Komba City District, East Manggarai Regency is the lack of awareness of the potential around them which they might be able to use as additional resources to be useful for the education of the Golo Meni village community. One of the programs implemented in Golo Meni village is improving children's character education through the scout program at Satap Watu Mundung Middle School. The aim of holding this character education program is: 1) Early Personality Formation: Middle school age is a critical period where children begin to develop thought patterns and habits that they will carry into adulthood. Character education helps them build a strong moral foundation; 2) Prevention of Negative Behavior: With character education, children are guided to recognize and avoid unethical or detrimental behavior, such as lying, cheating, violence, and verbal and non-verbal abuse; 3) Social Development: Character education helps children understand and appreciate differences, as well as develop empathy and the ability to cooperate with others; 4) Future Preparation: Good character is not only important in the school environment but also in everyday life and the world of work in the future. Children who are educated with good character tend to become more successful and happy individuals. The result of this Character Education program is that children are enthusiastic about participating in these activities. Apart from that, this Character Education program can also help students to always be confident.
