The construction of emergency bathroom stalls in Deru Village, Mokel, is an initiative by KKN STIE Karya Ruteng to address the lack of privacy in open bathing facilities along public roads. This project aims to raise community awareness about the importance of sanitation and privacy, particularly for women. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the project actively involved residents in all stages, from planning, material collection, to implementation. Bamboo was chosen as the primary material for its availability, low cost, and eco-friendliness. The results indicate that the constructed stalls enhanced privacy, improved comfort, and fostered positive collaboration between students and the community. Furthermore, this initiative encouraged community involvement in maintaining and caring for the facilities. Despite challenges such as limited community participation and the need for regular maintenance, this effort serves as an effective starting point for improving village sanitation.
